SXSW Interactive 2007 - March 9-13, Austin, Texas

Where Is the Event?

The daytime hub of activity at SXSW Interactive is the Austin Convention Center (4th and Trinity entrance). Come to the top floor to pick up your badge, attend panels, visit the Trade Show and much much more.

2007 Speakers and
Panels Announced;
Downtown Lodging
Still Available

Check out the confirmed speakers page as well as the confirmed panels page for the most current information about 2007 SXSW Interactive Festival programming. A large portion of this programming was determined by the Panel Picker -- a voting interface that allowed the online community to give their feedback on which panel proposals seem most appropriate for the event. Although we are no longer accepting proposals for the 2007 SXSW Interactive Festival, we will begin accepting ideas for 2008 in July. Stay tuned to this website or contact Hugh at for complete details.

Also, we remind you that while the SXSW room block is already sold out at many downtown hotels, there is still plenty of very convenient lodging available for the event. We recommend that you register ASAP to ensure yourself the most lodging options for next spring's event. The online registration interface will take you to a page that will allow you to book a hotel room via the SXSW Housing Desk.

Making software predictable and consistent makes it much easier to use. This session will explain UI consistency and point out examples of failures and their consequences. We'll discuss when it's appropriate to break consistency, and how to build tools and process to ensure applications are consistent with human interface guidelines and real-world practices. Specific attention will be paid to consistency in your everyday tools: Mac OS X and Adobe applications.
