The good, the bad, and the ugly
The 2006 World Cup will be remembered in Australia as the tournament which introduced the nation to the ins and outs of the 'world game'.
The Socceroos thrilled the nation with their brave run into the last 16 but once the euphoria died down many Australian fans would not have been too impressed with what they saw in the rest of the tournament.
Key games were marred by foul play - diving, 'simulation' and all the attendant dark arts - which tried the patience of fans and officials alike.
