ROUND ROCK - Texas A&M; left-hander Jason Meyer struck out six in 4 1/3 innings of relief to lead 13th-ranked Texas A&M; to a 9-4 win over Texas State at Dell Diamond on Tuesday night.

A crowd of 1,220 watched the non-conference game.

Meyer (3-0), who replaced starter Kiel Renfro to start the third inning, allowed one run on five hits. Thebeau earned his second save of the year, striking out four in 2 2/3 no-hit innings.

Whether it was because of April Fool's Day or just another Big 12 Sunday game, the series finale between Texas A&M; and Nebraska nearly had it all, including a two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Aggies an 8-7 victory.

"That's what we've got to do," A&M; head coach Rob Childress said. "We've had some ups and downs the last couple of weeks. I told the team this morning that April's going to be our month. We've got a way to get on a roll."

Luke Anders drove home Darby Brown from second after Brown had reached on a single that barely found its way past second baseman Jake Opitz. Brown moved up on a wild pitch by Zach Herr (2-3).
