Cut Carbon? Go Nuclear

Cut Carbon? Go Nuclear

The government's climate change bill was attacked today for being "deeply misguided."

UK Independence party leader Nigel Farage said the plans by the government to cut carbon emissions by 60% and invest in wind and solar power were "unachievable and unnecessary."

Mr Farage said "We are all going to suffer for a scheme which isn't going to work because the government haven't come up with a viable plan for alternative sources of energy to replace fossil fuels.

"Here is the government once again setting itself a target it has no possibility of achieving simply for short term political gain.

"Crippling the British economy and destroying investment into alternative technologies is not the way to go about cutting carbon emissions, nor is it the solution to climate change.

He added,"If this government and opposition really want to do something about reducing emissions then they need to be looking into proper alternatives like nuclear power."
