In the Community
Legacy Health System is founded on a rich history of the Lutheran and
Episcopal churches, dedicated employees, committed physicians and innovative
services. These strengths enable Legacy to be of greatest benefit to the
communities we serve. Legacy has developed a comprehensive plan that improves
the health of the community. Employees, patients, medical staff and the general
community are all beneficiaries of this network of programs.
Legacy's partnerships with the
community
have long been recognized. In 2001, Legacy received national recognition as
a recipient of the Points of Light Foundation Award for Excellence in
Corporate Community Service. In 2005 Legacy received the Uniting to
Understand Racism Community Service Award and was heralded as the Oregon
Mentors Premier Employer Partner. In the first months of opening, the new Legacy
Salmon Creek Hospital was awarded Clark County's Community Pride Design Award
and the Vancouver Business Journal recognized the Site Administrator as one
of the Community's Most Accomplished Under Age 40. Legacy is viewed as
a model for working with the community and the Community Relations Department is frequently
requested to speak on behalf of our work. This section of our website provides
detailed information about the community programs and services supported by
Legacy.
