Official Bank of  Luxembourg 2003 Mint Set of Euro Coins
Coins of All Three Benelux Countries Available
Owing to its small size and a limited demand for native circulating coinage, the coin sets of Luxembourg have been among the more desirable of the euro-issuing countries. The Bank of Luxembourg recently announced that its 2003 brilliant uncirculated Mint Set will be released in December with an issue limit of 50,000 sets.
The two other countries in the Benelux, Belgium and the Netherlands, issued their sets earlier in the year and they are still available. Each of the three sets contains all the regularly circulating euro coins: bronze 1, 2 and 5 cents; brass (euphemistically called "Nordic Gold") 10, 20 and 50 cents, and the bimetal 1 and 2 euro coins.
The Luxembourg set are US$39.50. The Belgium and Netherlands sets are available for $18.95 each. Add $4.50 to each order for shipping and handling. Even if the Luxembourg sets are shipped separately, only one shipping and handling charge will apply.
In addition, Netherlands prooflike sets may be ordered at $49.50 each and Belgian proof sets are $69.50.

10 Euro 2003. 100th Birthday of Georges Simenon
Although his well-known protagonist, Detective Inspector Maigret, was Parisian, Georges Simenon was one of most famous Belgians of the twentieth century. His two hundred plus novels were translated into several dozen languages and more than fifty were adapted for television and the large screen. Two of them, My Friend Maigret (1949) and Maigret in Court (1960) were named in 1987 as two of the hundred best crime novels.
While Simenon's personal life was in many ways tragic, and was controversial enough to merit its own body of literature, it is for his acclaimed police novels that Belgium has chosen to honor the centennial of his February 13, 1913 birth with a 10 Euro sterling silver coin.
The proof quality issue is limited to 50,000 specimens and weighs 18.75 grams with a diameter of 33 millimeters. Its designer is Luc Lucyx, who was the creator of the national side of the euro coins now in circulation. Order this immensely popular coin today for $34.95.

12-COIN EURO SET WITH A 1 EURO COIN
FROM EACH NATION
The EURO Presidency Set 2002

The Euro as a currency will soon be a reality, and the collecting of European coinage will change forever. As the January 1, 2002 release date approaches, billions of coins that have been securely stored for years are now making their way into the channels of distribution. The Royal Belgian Mint has taken this opportunity to secure 100,000 of the bimetallic 1 Euro denomination from each of the countries participating in the new currency and has packaged them into what will probably be one of the most popular coin sets of all time.

Coins from twelve countries in the set: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. Also two medals struck by the Royal Belgian Mint and designed by Luc Luycx, who is also the designer of the "universal' side of the coins. Its theme is "the Presidency of the European Union," which for 2002 will be held by Denmark and Spain (note: Denmark is not participating in the currency). Plus an additional bonus, a CD-Rom containing images and music from Europe and especially from the two presidential nations.

Reservations now being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for the 100,000 sets at $47.50 (plus $4.50 per order for shipping and handling). Delivery will be in January after the official release date.
