Technology Requirements

We assume viewers of our Web pages have the following technology on their local systems:

1. a browser equivalent to at least Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 4.0, able to read forms, tables, and frames
2. the ability to run javascript and java applications
3. the free Acrobat 5.0 Reader plug-in from Adobe, to view files in Portable Document Format (.PDF)
4. streaming media player (Real One, Windows Media Player, etc.) to view video and audio files

We have minimized the technology required for viewing the material published on the Web sites of the U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service, but have streamlined production of Web content by assuming customers have these tools.
