Advancing the lifelong learning and professional interests of ophthalmologists is essential to the Academy’s mission. The Academy reaches out to educate ophthalmologists from around the world through the meetings it offers. Program topics include clinical as well as management and regulatory subjects. Annual Meeting

Dedicated to presenting recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, this outstanding four-day event offers symposia, scientific papers, instruction courses, posters, videos and the most extensive floor exhibit in ophthalmology. Subspecialty Day Meetings

Held immediately before the Annual Meeting, these meetings offer intensive reviews of the latest advances in various subspecialty areas. Mark your calendars for the 2007 Subspecialty Day, Nov. 9 to 10. This year’s meetings will cover Cornea, Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Refractive Surgery, and Retina. Mid-Year Forum

An opportunity for Academy leaders and leaders of allied ophthalmic organizations to identify and discuss critical issues facing ophthalmology, while earning CME credits. Find out more out about this year’s meeting

  • Congressional Advocacy Day
    Advocacy Day is held in conjunction with the Mid-Year Forum and educates Academy members on legislative issues relevant to members and the ophthalmic profession. As part of Advocacy Day, members have an opportunity to meet with their U.S. senators and representatives to present the concerns and positions of the Academy and the profession.

  • Council Meeting
    The Council, an advisory group of nearly 100 Academy members, also meets in conjunction with the Mid-Year Forum to discuss advisory recommendations for the Board of Trustees.

2007 ISRS/AAO Meeting

May 26 - 27, 2007
Beijing, China

Join ISRS/AAO, in partnership with the Chinese Ophthalmological Society and the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, for another exciting meeting in Beijing, featuring the latest developments in refractive and cataract surgery.

Program Directors: Ronald R. Krueger, MD, and Jialiang Zhao Sr., MD

The meeting will be simultaneously translated into Mandarin.
