With the help of Vision 2025 funding, the City's new
gymnasium at Nienhuis Park is open and the swimming facility there is due to open
Memorial Day weekend. Work is also underway on a skatepark just north of the swimming

Economic
Development Plan Revealed...
After months of research, the economic blueprint for Broken Arrow is complete.
At a luncheon attended by more than 400 area business leaders and community
members, Angelou Economics of Austin, TX revealed an economic development
plan for the city. The Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation (City of
BA, Chamber of Commerce and BA Public Schools) hosted the event at the new Nienhuis
Park Gymnasium at the Nienhuis Community Center. Click here for photo

The
Broken Arrow Fire Department defeated the Tulsa Police Department in the Tug-of-War
finals, but it was the Oklahoma Special Olympics which came out the big winner
in the Feb. 17 Polar Plunge at Bass Pro in Broken Arrow. The event here was tops
in the state with nearly $15,000. A very cold Kevin Bishop hung in to the finish
to photograph the action.
