Is The Baby Gender Mentor Test Right For Me?

Baby Gender Mentor's early prenatal gender detection test is based on established qPCR technology that, when properly administered by a qualified laboratory, has been proven highly accurate in detecting targeted DNA markers.  Baby Gender Mentor goes one step beyond standard qPCR detection technology, by confirming every gender result with a second test using proprietary new technology based on fetal RNA detection.

If you are less than five weeks pregnant, you are not eligible to take the Test.  If you are more than five weeks pregnant, you are eligible to take the Test, understanding that (1) the possibility of an inconclusive result is greater during the first eight weeks of pregnancy and (2) results are more reliable as the pregnancy approaches the eighth week.  In addition, the result of the Test can be affected by your medical history.  For example, if you have had an abortion, miscarried, received a blood transfusion or received in-vitro fertilization treatment, the result of the Test may be affected.  The result of the Test can also be affected by contamination.  See Directions for Blood Sample Collection on the insert in the Test Kit.

There are additional rare factors that can affect a Test result, particularly prior to the end of the eighth week of pregnancy.  Some of these factors are the results of natural phenomena such as embryo fusion, embryo usurpation or a heterozygous or “vanishing” twin.  Chromosomal abnormalities may also affect a Test result.  For information about these rare factors, consult with your doctor.

In addition, it must be emphasized that the accuracy of the test depends on the accuracy of the estimated date of the first day of your last menstrual period, as well as on the assumption that pregnancy occurs on or close to 14 days later.  A miscalculation, irregular periods, or individual differences in dates of conception, can affect test results, especially in the earlier stages of pregnancy.

How Early In My Pregnancy Can I Take The Test?

The Test is able to identify the presence of fetal genetic materials often as early as five weeks after conception.  If you are not at least five weeks pregnant (as measured from the date of conception), you are not eligible to take the Test.  If you take the Test between five and eight weeks after conception, there is a possibility that the Test result will be inconclusive. 

As you approach the eighth week of pregnancy, reliability increases because there are fewer factors that potentially could affect the Test results.  For example, as the pregnancy progresses, there is less possibility of a so-called “vanishing twin.”

How Can I Determine How Long I Have Been Pregnant?

Generally, a woman's ovulatory phase begins on the fourteenth day after the first day of her last menstrual cycle.  If your menstrual periods are regular, count back to the first day of your last period.  To be eligible to take the Test, the first day of your last period must have occurred at least 49 days ago.  If you have irregular periods, consult with your doctor to confirm that you are at least five weeks pregnant before taking the Test.

How Long Will It Take Before I Receive My Test Kit After I Order It?

For domestic delivery in the United States, your Test Kit should be delivered to you within two days via FedEx 2-Day Mail.  For delivery overseas, you should receive your Test Kit within three to five days by FedEx Express Service. 

Can Someone Assist Me Collect My Blood Sample?

It is extremely important that you do not contaminate your blood sample.  You must carefully follow the Directions for Blood Sample Collection on the insert in the Test Kit.  Contamination of your blood sample may occur if you do not strictly follow the Directions.  To avoid contamination, a male adult or male child cannot assist you collect your blood sample.  In fact, all males should stay far away from you while you collect your blood sample.  If you have difficulty collecting your blood sample by yourself, you may be assisted by a female – but that female must thoroughly wash her hands before providing assistance to you. 

How Long Will It Take For My Blood Sample To Reach Acu-Gen?

If you ship your blood sample within the United States, and you use the FedEx return envelope that comes with your Test Kit, it will take two days for your blood sample to reach Acu-Gen.  If you are shipping your sample from overseas, you should contact the local FedEx location to find out how long it will take for your blood sample to reach Acu-Gen.

If This Is Not My First Pregnancy, Can I Still Take The Test?

Yes.  Since the Baby Gender Mentor Test tests for fetal genetic materials from the current fetus, you can take the Test whether or not you have been pregnant before.

If I Delivered A Baby Within The Last Six Months, Can I Still Take The Test?

Yes.  You can take the Test regardless of how long ago you delivered another baby, as long as you are at least five weeks pregnant. 

Can I Take The Test If I Have Received In-Vitro Fertilization Treatment?

Yes.  You can take the Test if you have received in-vitro fertilization treatment as long as you inform Acu-Gen how many ova were implanted and the date that they were implanted. 

What Are The Possible Results Of The Baby Gender Mentor Test?

After you submit your blood sample, you can access your account online at our secure Web Site to view the result of your Baby Gender Mentor Test.  You will see one of the following four Test results:  MALE, FEMALE, TWINS or INCONCLUSIVE. 

If the Test result is MALE, it means that only male fetal genetic materials were present in your blood at the time that you took the Test.  This means that you are likely carrying one or more baby boys. 

If the Test result is FEMALE, it means that only female fetal genetic materials were present in your blood at the time that you took the Test.  This means that you are likely carrying one or more baby girls. 

If the Test result is TWINS, it means that both male and female fetal genetic materials were present in your blood at the time that you took the Test.  This means that you are likely carrying at least one baby boy and at least one baby girl. 

Occasionally, a Test result is INCONCLUSIVE.  When this occurs, Acu-Gen will not refund the price you paid for the Test Kit but Acu-Gen will refund the price you paid for laboratory analysis.  In addition, if the result of your Test is INCONCLUSIVE, Acu-Gen will send to you, upon request, a new Test Kit free of charge so that you can take the Test again and submit a new blood sample.  See LIMITED WARRANTY on our Web Site for details.
