From beginnings as a small Australian importer in 1957, Housewares International Limited grew substantially and acquired the US based Metro Marketing in 1997, before being listed on the Australian stock exchange in 1999.
The company has continued to prosper with the 2001 acquisition of 100% of Breville Holdings and 50% of Anglo-Canadian – a long established distributor of home wares in Canada.
In 2003 the Australian brand SABCO was acquired to further strengthen our position as a leading supplier of goods for the home.
With sales revenue of over $A450 million for the year ended 30 June 2004 Housewares International Limited continues to deliver excellent results. Housewares International Limited will continue to persue additional homeware product offerings to secure a complimentary local strategic objective – to grow our presence further into the home.
