personally preview each production. Their decisions are based on the PTCís
comprehensive Entertainment Analysis Form which documents every instance of sex,
violence and profanity whether visual, implied or spoken. In the end, a
production that receives 100 points and after careful deliberation with PTC
executives are awarded the Entertainment Seal of Approval.
With the Entertainment
Seal of Approval, parents have the confidence of knowing that they wonít be
surprised by inappropriate content unsuitable for their family. They can read a
review that tells them in detail what to expect in a production. They are then
armed with all the information they need to make decisions appropriate for their
family. Itís no wonder then that the PTC entertainment reviews section is the
most popular section in the PTC website.
“When marketing a family film, it is always helpful to have the support of an
organization such as the Parents Television Council.”
While the movie industry produced nearly
12 times more R-rated films than G-rated films from 1989-2003, the average
G-rated film produced 11 times greater profit than its R-rated counterpart."

Seal of Approval
the Parents Television Council names the top ten advertisers that support, through their television advertising, programs that are socially-responsible and family-friendly. This prestigious award salutes corporations that promote quality entertainment, rather than programs that are filled with gratuitous sexual content, graphic violence or profanity.
The PTC selects winners through an arduous analysis of corporate television advertising patterns. Based upon the PTCís customized computer system, Entertainment Tracking System (ETS), a comparative analysis is made of the leading television advertisers and the network and selected cable shows they purchase. Companies that consistently purchase advertisements on quality family-friendly programs are collected in the ETS data base. The top ten leading companies from this list then comprise the Advertiser Seal of Approval winners.
