Meet Our President/CEO

Dan Kurtenbach came to Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley, Inc. (GIMV) from Oklahoma Goodwill Industries, Inc. He earned his undergraduate degree from St. John's University in New York City and his MBA from the University of Nebraska. Dan has thirty years of management experience and has been President/CEO of several Goodwill Industries organizations.

During his years in Oklahoma, Dan served as committee chairperson in response to two major disasters. First, heading an unmet needs committee following the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, which killed 168 people and injured over 500. Then, chairing a committee that responded to survivors' needs after nearly 30 tornadoes devastated central Oklahoma on May 3, 1999, which left 45 people dead and caused massive destruction.

Dan was raised on a farm in central Nebraska, the second of his family's eleven children. He and his wife, Theresa, have two sons and two grandsons. Dan enjoys dancing with his wife and grandparenting, and is an avid Husker fan.
