 Deathwish Signs The Great Deceiver

Deathwish Inc. has announced the signing of The Great Deceiver. The band is comprised of vocal legend Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates, Disfear, etc) and longtime friend Kristian Wahlin (Necrolord), visual artist to legendary bands At The Gates, Dissection, etc. The band was formed just after the demise of At The Gates in 1999. The band will release Life is Wasted on the Living later this year.

 Equal Vision Signs Pierce The Veil

Equal Vision Records has announced the signing of San Diego-based rockgroup Pierce the Veil. The band will release their label debut, A Flair for the Dramatic, on June 26th. You can preview material from the band here.

 Mikoto To Enter Studio

Mikoto (ex-Taken) will be heading into Infrasonic Studios (Mars Volta, Saosin) from June 10th-28th with Beau Burchell (The Bled, Bronx, Saosin) to record their debut full-length, We are the Architects. Vocalist Ray Harkins had this to say about the album:

Our dreams are finally being realized in the assembling of our first full length. We have gone over these songs with a fine toothed comb as we wanted to ensure that the songs were the best we possibly can release. There are too many bands around today that don't take the care and effort into releasing a quality product, we are not one of those bands.

 Giving Chase U.K. Tourdates

 Q-Tip Readying New Album

Q-Tip is currently in the midst of wrapping up work on his new album The Renaissance, which is scheduled for release on Motown/Universal Records in late Summer/early Fall. The album is set to feature guest spots from D'Angelo, Common, and Andre 3000. The album album has been described as a "return to his A Tribe Called Quest hip hop roots."

A number of details have been revealed of the Beastie Boys' seventh studio album. Titled The Mix-Up, the album will be the band's first all-instrumental album with absolutely no samples or vocals - yes you read that correctly. The band has also announced the tracklisting, which consists of twelve "wordless, sample-less, scratchless originals." The album is the follow-up to 2004's To the 5 Boroughs and will be released on June 26th via Capitol Records. The tracklisting for the album is as follows:
