The following documents are available for download:

Applications may be made by a unit in an area of social deprivation, for one-off expenses up to a maximum of £250.

Examples of applications that will be considered:

  • A grant towards the cost of small items of equipment, for example, an equipment box or a padlock for a cupboard.
  • A grant to assist with the cost of unit equipment, for example, handbooks or The Guiding Manual.
  • A grant towards the cost of providing transport for members of the unit to a guiding event.
  • Start up costs for a new unit.

Applications should not be submitted for:

  • Membership fees.
  • Transport to and from unit meetings.
  • Ongoing running costs.

To apply for a grant you must complete the application form and send with a copy of your unit accounts to the Guide Friendship Fund at CHQ.

On receipt of the grant application, the Guide Friendship Fund will check that the applicants are listed on the Girlguiding UK database and a copy will be sent to the GFF Adviser and the International Commissioner. A decision will be reached and the applicant advised within six weeks of receipt of the application at CHQ. The applicant will be informed in writing.

Please note that grants cannot be issued retrospectively.
