The Browns added one more free agent to their 2007 class when they signed safety Mike Adams to a two-year contract Monday. Adams played in 16 games (eight starts) last season with the San Francisco 49ers, totaling 67 tackles on scrimmage downs and 12 special teams tackles.
Adams, 5-11 and 195 pounds, has played the last three seasons with San Francisco totaling 139 tackles, one sack, five interceptions and six passes defended in 38 career games, including 18 starts. In 2005, Adams started 10 games (14 total games) and established a career-high with 68 tackles and tied for the team lead with four interceptions.
A native of Paterson, N.J., Adams originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Delaware in 2004. He turned 26 on March 24.
