Reddit is definitely my number one visited site.
(and some finnish sites that you won't be interested in) I used to visit digg some year ago but it's so full of crap nowadays that I don't bother. I'm also stopped visiting slashdot. I don't even know why, reddit just seems to fill the same need for me. |

As I said in my other reply, that is the way to force companies to other business models. Web as it it now is as good as it is only because of ads. Why do you think all the quality newspapers publish most of their content to web without subscription fee? |

Exactly. If business can't be cash positive by their selected revenue stream (like ads) then it will have to change their business model to something else (like subscription based model). That was my exact point. I don't want to pay for subscriptions or pay micro payments for articles. I will much rather have couple of text ads (or static image ads) next to the article. |

I think it's only fair to webmasters to get some income from ads. If webbrowsers would have ad blocker and, even worse, adlists installed by default how do you think sites like reddit would live? I do use adblock but usually don't block text ads because once in a while there is an interesting ad there and it's not a bad thing to give something back to the webmasters by clicking that ad. That's the only way to keep the web free. |

He's entertaining until you try to have discussion with him and don't understand that he's only trying to troll. Here is his personal aspect about the issue - he feels "important" when he's hated.
