PLC Sydney encourages students to develop skills in a range of sports and to participate in membership of a team involved in inter-school competition.
Junior Schoolstudents participate in a comprehensive PD/H/PE programme which aims to encourage students to develop their overall coordination skills. PLC participates in the Junior School Heads Association of Australia (JSHAA) Saturday morning competitions in a variety of sports, including T-ball, modball, softball, minkey, hockey and students have the opportunity to be selected to be a member of a PLC team.
Senior School students may participate in the Independent Girls Schools Sports Association Schools Sporting Competitions. IGSSA was established in 1922 with PLC as one of the five founding members.
Opportunities for all
Through PLC’s membership of IGSSA and JSHAA, all girls have the opportunity to participate in several sports during their time at school. Those with special sporting talent are offered a pathway to represent at the highest level available at PLC, IGSSA/JSHAA, Combined Independent Schools and may even be a state representation at School Sport Australia.
