Continuing Education at Kennesaw State University offers more than 2,700 classes and programs to over 23,000 registrants per year, making it one of the largest continuing education programs in the country. From summer classes for kids, to professional and leisure courses for adults, to a wide array of classes and events for seniors, we truly have something to offer any age and any interest. Our instructors are experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly. Most of our courses have no diploma or degree requirement or lengthy application process - they're open to anyone with a passion for learning. For those looking to enhance their careers, develop new ones, or simply enjoy a new leisure interest in the company of like minded individuals, Continuing Education at KSU is the solution.

Professional Development

Professional development gives individuals the opportunity to experience business and personal growth through a wide range of courses and programs. With over 40 certificate programs in dozens of disciplines, students can enhance their current skills or learn new ones. Languages & Cross Cultural Programs

The Languages program meets the needs of our multilingual population by offering six levels of English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, serving more than 1,500 students in the past four years, as well as offering training in eight foreign languages.


  • The Cross Cultural Competency course was recognized by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for filling a vital need in our community
  • The TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program has trained more than 200 instructors

Online Learning

Online Learning offers the convenience of classes anytime, anywhere, to fit any lifestyle. Topics include all areas of personal and business development, including certificate programs in technology, healthcare, human resources, business and management, and writing.


  • Over 100 courses are offered each month in a monthly or start anytime format
  • More than 2,000 students served in the past year
  • An extensive selection of courses awarding PLUs for teachers is available

Leisure & Life Enrichment

For the more recreational learner, an eclectic array of classes is offered, covering every leisure activity from art to writing. In addition, courses for kids and teens have provided over 1000 students in the past three years with fun and informative summer classes.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)

This award winning program provides a variety of educational and social opportunities specifically for adults ages 50 and older. The program promotes lifelong learning and continued intellectual and personal growth.


  • The program serves more than 2,000 seniors a year, with an average of 45 classes offered each quarter in a wide assortment of subjects, growing at a rate of 25% per year
  • Three socials are hosted each year with dinner, dancing, and thematic decorations
  • The OLLI Club Room, opened in 2003, provides a comfortable gathering place for members and guests to socialize and work
  • Local businesses, corporations, and individuals have committed financial and in-kind resources to support our programs
  • Received Osher grants for $200,000 and $1 million in endowment funds; $100,000 in the Al and Chet scholarship fund
  • Recipient of the 2005 Exemplary Model Program for Older Adult Learners award presented by the Association of Continuing Higher Education (ACHE)

Outreach Programs

Project IDEAS specializes in workforce issues. Staff and consultants design and deliver customized training workshops and facilitate team building and strategic planning issues. Also provides career assessment and guidance to individuals and organizations.

The International Center specializes in customized training for foreign government officials, business executives, professionals, and students. The Center has served students from Asia, and nine Eastern European countries. It is one of five authorized training bases in the U.S. for the Chinese government.

  • Awarded the Highest Honor for Design and Excellence by the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA), an international organization
  • Program of Excellence Award from UCEA Region II for the Kennesaw Internet Professional (KIP)certificate program
  • Honored by the Association of Continuing Higher Education (ACHE) for the OLLI program for seniors
  • Approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)
  • Recognized by the Georgia Adult Association for Programming Excellence

Conferences & Facilities Rental

The KSU Center is designed to accommodate educationally oriented events in a state-of-the-art meeting and training environment. Rooms are comfortably furnished and equipped with easels, white boards, overhead and data projectors, screens, and high-speed Internet connections.
