Prayer and worship have been offered on the site occupied by St Mary le Bow for over a thousand years. St Mary le Bow is an active church serving all who work in and visit the City of London. The Church opens before 7 am each weekday, an oasis of peace and stillness in the City. Enquiries about baptism, confirmation, marriage, funerals, confessions, counselling, &c. may be made to the church office.

St Martin's on the Road
Sundays 13th May to 23rd September, 10 am

From the 7th May to the end of September, St Martin in the Fields church in Trafalgar Square is closed as part of a major building renewal project. During that time, the congregation of St Martin's will be worshipping at St Mary le Bow on Sundays at 10 am. Full details are on the St Martin's website .

St Martin in the Fields is enormously grateful to the Rector, Staff, and PCC of St Mary le Bow for their hospitality during the period of their church's closure.

The Bishop will also preach at the Parish Eucharist at 6.05 that evening.



New Publication
"A History of St Mary le Bow"

Plans are now well advanced to publish a 300-page volume of essays dealing with the history of St Mary le Bow in the autumn of 2007. With a foreword by the Archbishop of Canterbury, these essays will cover all aspects of the life of the church and parish since 1080. A survey of the crypt was undertaken by Laurence King in 1955, before the re-building of the church. His report is available here.
