Domino Acquires RFID Specialist
Domino Printing Sciences has acquired Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), a specialist in automatic identification and data capture systems integration
Specialising in the deployment of RFID and the integration of printer and reader technologies to provide traceability systems throughout the supply chain, US-based EIS will be incorporated in to Domino's Integrated Solution Group, where Domino believes the company will add considerable strength to Domino's global services and its provision of integration.
According to Domino, the latest acquisition reinforces its commitment to the fast-expanding product and asset track and traceability market throughout Europe, as well as further enhancing its position as a global provider of complete RFID and other coding systems.
Simon King, a director of Domino's Integrated Solutions Group, said: 'This is a highly strategic investment for us and an important step in our continuing process of establishing Domino as a first class global player in systems integration of complete RFID track and trace systems.
The impact of traceability in key market sectors such as Europe, is accelerating fast and the outstanding knowledge and expertise that the EIS team brings is the perfect complement to Domino's existing capabilities in designing and implementing total coding and marking systems.' He added: 'EIS business practice also includes processes that are necessary for effective systems integration delivery.
It is our intention to build upon this best practice to the benefit of Domino's broader activities throughout the global market.' Enterprise Information Systems will continue to trade under the EIS brand name as a Domino company within the Integrated Solutions Group.
Dwain Farley, chief executive officer of EIS, added: 'We are delighted to be part of such an established and global company, which will provide us with access to the potential of the European and Asian markets.
I am confident that our experience with our customer base in the consumer packaged goods and aerospace and defence markets, coupled with Domino's global presence, will enable us to forge our strengths and expertise to deliver the very best total track and trace systems throughout the key sectors across the world.' Continued Simon King: 'In addition to the EIS acquisition, we are continuing to build our presence and system skills base in other key markets.
Europe currently features heavily in our plans and with a strong position in China and the rest of Asia, we will continue to expand our full business support in these markets.' He further commented: 'A number of Domino's recent programmes have been at the leading edge of developments with serialised data management and the communication of product and shipment data along the supply chain.
We fully intend to help further the technology in this area and provide Domino customers with effective, reliable systems from a supplier they can trust to deliver.'
