Hanks' firm to shoot film in Belfast's Titanic Quarter
A major Hollywood film called the City of Ember is to be set in Belfast's Titanic Quarter.
Playtone Productions, which is owned by Tom Hanks, will begin work on the children`s sci-fi adventure this summer.
Work was already under way this morning at the disused Paint Hall in the Titanic Quarter, in preparation for the Hollywood blockbuster.
The film is based on the best selling children`s novel the City of Ember and it is the Hollywood star Tom Hanks` Playtone production company which has bought the rights to the book and decided that it should be filmed at the Titanic Quarter.
Filming will start in early summer and is expected to finish in October.
