Hockaday Alumna Wins Tony Award

Hockaday alumna Victoria Clark '78 won a Tony Award for Lead Actress in a Musical for her role as Margaret Johnson in The Light in the Piazza. The show also won in five other categories for a total of six Tony Awards, the most awards for any show. The awards show was broadcast live on Sunday, June 5, 2005.

Ms. Clark made her Broadway debut in 1985 in Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George. She has been a Broadway regular ever since, appearing in Urinetown as Penelope Pennywise, Cabaret as Fraulein Kost, and Titanic as Alice Beane just to name a few.

The Light in the Piazza will run through January 1, 2006, at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre in New York City.
