What is Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime is a membership program that gives you and your family "all-you-can-eat" fast shipping for eligible purchases. For an annual membership fee of $79, you will enjoy:

  • Upgrades to One-Day (Overnight) Shipping for just $3.99 per item.
  • Two-Day and One-Day shipping usually apply across business days.  Prime also offers special weekend and other shipping options for qualifying merchandise
  • Free Standard Shipping for eligible items shipped to P.O. boxes in the continental United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories, possessions and protectorates) and APO/FPO addresses with U.S. zip codes.

  • Members-only 1-Click buttons on product pages.
  • No need to think about shipping charges when you order.

Convenient Sharing

How do I sign up for Amazon Prime?

To become a member of Amazon Prime, visit our sign-up page:

Can I order using 1-Click?

Amazon Prime works best when you use 1-Click Shopping. Amazon Prime members see a special ordering stripe at the top of product detail pages.  Most of the time, you'll see two members-only 1-Click buttons in the stripe: one button instantly orders the item with Free Two-Day Shipping, and the other button orders the item with One-Day (Overnight) Shipping for just $3.99 per item.  The stripe may also show special Amazon Prime weekend or other shipping options on qualifying merchandise.

To get the most out of Amazon Prime and 1-Click, please check your 1-Click settings:

  • Is 1-Click turned on? Members-only shopping buttons will not appear if 1-Click is disabled.
  • Is your default shipping address a P.O. Box? Make sure you provide a street address. We cannot use expedited carrier services for P.O. Box deliveries.
  • Is your payment information current? You may want to update your default credit card number and expiration date.
  • Is your default shipping method Two-Day? If you use the standard 1-Click button on the right-hand side of product detail pages, please verify the default shipping method for the shipping address. You will need to change it from Standard Shipping to Free Two-Day Shipping to take full advantage of your Amazon Prime benefits.

Click here for more information on using 1-Click.

Can I shop without using 1-Click?

If you prefer to use the Shopping Cart instead of 1-Click, simply place items in your Shopping Cart and proceed to checkout as usual. On the order summary page, you will see:

  • Amazon Prime-eligible items are recognized and the shipping method defaults to Free Two-Day Shipping.
  • The option to upgrade your shipment of eligible items to One-Day (Overnight) Shipping for $3.99 per item.
  • You may see special weekend or other shipping options if they are available for your items.
  • Your shipping preferences default to "ship items as they become available" (at no additional cost to you) to ensure your items arrive as soon as possible.
Which items are eligible for Amazon Prime?

Eligible products will be designated on the product page, in the order pipeline, or at check-out. Generally, most items eligible for Super Saver Shipping are also eligible for Amazon Prime Shipping benefits. The program is limited to products sold by Amazon.com and by third-party merchants participating in the Fulfillment by Amazon program. Gift certificates are not eligible for expedited shipping under Amazon Prime. Some Amazon.com products are excluded, including, for example, oversize or heavy items, items regulated as hazardous materials, and other items with special shipping characteristics. Products sold by third parties, such as Target, or through third-party areas, such as Marketplace or Auctions, are NOT eligible.

Which addresses can I ship to using Amazon Prime?

Members can ship eligible items to any valid address in the continental United States as long as it meets the restrictions outlined in the Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions. Members are not limited to shipping eligible purchases exclusively to their home billing address. Certain addresses such as P.O. Boxes are excluded from One-Day and Two-Day delivery services because our express carriers are unable to ship to these addresses. Members are entitled to Free Standard Shipping on eligible items shipped to some addresses ineligible for express shipping. See the "Eligible Purchases" section of the Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions for full eligibility rules.

How do I share Amazon Prime with members of my household?

Inviting family members to share your Amazon Prime membership is easy. Simply log into "Your Account" and click on the link to "Your Amazon Prime Membership." There you will see a list of your current membership, the status of all members linked to your Amazon Prime membership, and options to add or remove members.

  • To add a member: Enter the person's name, relationship, e-mail address and birthday in the appropriate fields and click "Invite." An invitation e-mail message automatically will be sent to the e-mail address you entered. Note that invited members will need to know the month and day of your birthday to accept your invitation.
  • To remove a member: Click the "Remove" button next to the name of the person you wish to remove. An e-mail message automatically will be sent to the person you remove.
What else should I know about Amazon Prime?
  • Free Two-Day and per-unit One-Day shipping options apply only for shipments to continental U.S. addresses (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, P.O. boxes, APO/FPO and U.S. territories, possessions and protectorates). Free standard shipping is available for eligible items shipped to P.O. boxes in the continental United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, possessions and protectorates) and APO/FPO addresses with U.S. zip codes.
  • This program is not available for customers who purchase products for the purpose of resale.
  • If only some items in your order are eligible for Amazon Prime you'll be charged applicable shipping fees for the ineligible items.
  • Two-Day and One-Day shipping may require signature for items over $400 and in most locations have no weekend pick-up or delivery. However, Amazon Prime members can take advantage of special weekend and other shipping options for qualifying merchandise--these options depend on inventory availability, order deadlines, and in some cases on the shipping address. Order deadlines are shown on product detail pages.
  • Amazon.com may ship eligible purchases using either ground or air shipping services as necessary to meet the estimated delivery date. These options do not correspond directly to any carrier-branded One-Day or Two-Day shipping services.
Can I cancel my membership to Amazon Prime?

You can cancel your Amazon Prime membership (except for any promotional trial memberships) and receive a refund of the membership fee if you or your registered guests have not made any eligible purchases. To do this, visit the Manage Your Prime Account section of Your Account and click the "Cancel membership" button.

Does my membership renew automatically?

Yes, your membership is set up to automatically renew annually. You can use Your Account to choose not to renew or to update your preferred payment method for membership renewals. If the preferred method is unavailable (for example, a credit card has expired), for your convenience we will use another payment method we have on record for you. Your initial sign-up is an authorization for us to use the preferred or other available payment methods.

Is a promotional trial membership different from full membership?

We sometimes offer certain customers various trial or other promotional memberships.  Trial memberships cannot be canceled, but trial members can at any time (through Your Account) choose not to upgrade to regular annual membership at the end of the trial period.  The Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions apply to these memberships except as otherwise stated in the trial offers.
