The number of files to update in each patch varies greatly. For the easiest update, download the one for the correct version of your board.

Wacintaki Poteto is a CSS conversion of Oekaki Poteto 5.x. It is a complete Oekaki BBS with many new features compared to Poteto, including full support for Shi-Painter, file uploads, various fixes, and much lower bandwidth usage. Wacintaki also has a nifty resize option, which resizes the paint applet to fit your whole screen (no more teeny applet windows)!

Wacintaki includes a fully redesigned installer and updater to easily convert an existing Poteto 4.x or 5.x board, and a new installer which is much safer and asks for confirmation for most operations.

Some drawbacks are incompatibility with old OekakiPoteto templates, and the lack of a template designer (you MUST know CSS to make new templates). If you'd like an update fully compatible with the original Poteto, see my “Wax Poteto” mod, below.

What's New: Picture sumbission fix, and humanity test for registration and guest comments.

Wax Poteto is 100% compatible with Oekaki Poteto 5.x, so an existing board will not have to be converted or updated, as with Wacintaki. Use this if you want the fixes found in Wacintaki, but you're not sure you want to switch to the new Wacintaki interface, make new templates, or lose support for languages other than English.

New features include Shi-Painter support (including retouch), file uploads, new page numbers, avatars, the ability to enable/disable the chat room, a banner, and the ability to "bump" posts into new slots. Fixes include new menus which are more compatible with banner ads, more robust registration which keeps bad data from getting into the database, many security patches, and a problem where picture slots would skip repeatedly if they conflicted with an existing archived picture. Wax is also fully compatible with PHP 5 and MySQL 5.

To install a new board, or update an existing OekakiPoteto board, just read the included “readme.txt” file.

MBackup is a script to back-up the member profiles on an OekakiPoteto or compatible oekaki board. It allows for several recovery options, and is intended as a quick, easy way to back-up your profiles, add members from other OP boards to a “master” board, or move an OP board to a new server.

It will only back-up the member profiles, not posts and comments. Use a database administration tool, like phpMyAdmin, to back-up an entire database.

OekakiBBS Import will convert an OekakiBBS v1.32 board to an OekakiPoteto, Wax Poteto, or Wacintaki BBS. Versions of OekakiBBS older than v1.32 have not been tested.
