2007 NFL Draft |
Scouting Report |
The good: He displays playmaking ability and is most effective from the slot position. He catches the ball fairly well and shows the toughness to take a hit and hold on. He is a fine open-field runner after the catch and relies on that to make a big play. The bad: He is not a finished performer and needs development in most areas, especially route-running and defense recognition. He has a smaller frame with limited growth potential and must improve his overall strength to take the pounding in the NFL. Outlook: He has the upside to start after some development though I believe he should be a fast study and challenge for a starting job in a short time. Outstanding early second-day steal with the talent to be an impact role player early and starter within a few seasons. Davis is one of the hidden gems in this draft class and probably has the biggest upside of any receiver in this talented and deep class. A team could surprise and select Davis in the second round.
