Just recently when I had one of my "nothing to play" moments, I decided to do some research about what game sites (such as Yahoo and MSN Games) are offering to their visitors. I found quite a few cool little games and decided to play them one at a time. I decided to try out Pizza Frenzy, which seemed like a fun little game.
Pizza Frenzy is a wacky action, strategy and puzzle mix that puts you in charge of the Stromboli Family's pizza delivery business. You will need fast thinking and good reflexes to handle all the orders properly, and a really quick "mouse finger".
What you do is keep an eye out for orders in the neighborhood, click on them and then match them to the respective pizza kitchen in a timely manner. Each kitchen only produces one ingredient, and delivering to the wrong kitchen will cause you to lose the order. Missed orders and slow deliveries will make your customer satisfaction decrease, and if it gets too low, it's game over. You also have to pick up the tips yourself by clicking on them.
As you progress, you will be able to add new ingredients to your pizza, but you can only have a limited amount of them active at a time. Your recipe book can include tons of classic ingredients such as cheese, pepperoni and pineapple and several innovative ingredients like ice cubes, donuts and caviar.
There are three game modes to play: Speed (deliver as fast as you can for higher tips), Memory (after someone makes an order, the icon disappears and it's up to you to remember what pizza goes where) and Simon Says (deliver the orders in the order you received them).
A big cast of unique customers, some with "tricks" up their sleeves, includes:
HINT: Accepting several consecutive deliveries of the same kind of pizza with grant you a "Pizza Frenzy" and extra money. This is also how you "level up" your ingredients, so you can pick up more than one pizza of that kind of ingredient at once.
The game features dozens of levels and 12 exotic locations, including tropical islands, beaches, city suburbs and arctic villages, all populated with customers hungry for pizza. At the end of each level, if you haven't missed any orders, you will get a little bonus: a blimp will float by dropping bags of money.
Every now and again, you get a bonus stage where you have to make a number of pizzas in a time limit, following a model. According to the position of the toppings on the pizza and how similar to the model they are, you get $100 per "perfect" topping, $20 per "good", $5 per "okay" and $50 are deducted per missed topping.
There is also a cool pizza editor that lets you create your own "works of art" by using toppings and a pizza as a canvas. You can then place them on your ingredient list and have the customers order your own creations.
Pizza Frenzy is a fun simple game, very easy to pick up, with pleasant typically Italian music and funny sound effects. It's a really fast-paced game that will keep your mouse clicking for more. You can download the hour-long trial and experience the frenzy yourself.
