Mission

The Québec Federation of Real Estate Boards (QFREB) is a non-profit organization that oversees the twelve provincial Real Estate Boards. It was created in 1991 after the passing of the Real Estate Brokerage Act. Its mission: to promote and protect the interests of Quebec’s real estate industry so that the Boards and their members can successfully meet their business objectives.

An Economic Force

The real estate industry brings an important contribution to Québec’s economic development.
In fact, did you know that:

  • in 2005, the total volume of residential property sales reached a record $13.04 billion in Québec alone?

  • the economic spin-offs of sales of goods and services in Québec for each completed transaction, listed in the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®), are evaluated at $21,325?

  • the real estate industry injects an average of $1,5 billion per year into the provincial economy?

  • more than 17,850 direct or indirect jobs have been created?
