Led Zep's Page Joins Limp Bizkit's Durst And Puddle Of Mudd's Scantlin On Stage

(11/10/01, 7 a.m. ET) -- Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page made a surprise appearance on stage with Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst and Puddle Of Mudd leader Wes Scantlin at the MTV Europe Video Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany on Thursday (November 8). The trio performed a version of Zeppelin's classic tune, "Thank You."
For Puddle Of Mudd's Scantlin, the experience is the latest moment in which Durst, who signed Puddle to his own Flawless Records, has afforded the new group a higher profile. In September, the Bizkit leader wore a Puddle Of Mudd T-shirt to the MTV's biggest party, the Video Music Awards.
Scantlin tells LAUNCH that he was pleased to get such exposure at the New York show from one of rock's biggest stars, and just a month after the release of Puddle's debut album, Come Clean. "When Fred wore the Puddle Of Mudd shirt I was very, very happy," he says. "I was sitting, like, four seats down from him when he came walking in. You know, it was cool. I was like, 'Hey, nice shirt.' I was like, 'Can I get one?' 'cause I didn't even have one. Guess he made it himself."
