"September 11th Memorial", 2006
11' H x 9' W x 22' D
Granite / Cor-Ten Steel/ Stainless Steel
State Fire Marshal Building, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA
Permanent Installation

This Memorial is dedicated to the 343 fallen firefighters who respondend to the New York World Trade center's call for assistance on September 11, 2001. They lost their lives in the dedication of their duties.
The artist created the "twin towers" of nine-foot-tall granite as irreductible standings of the glass and steel of the World Trade Center structures. And above the "towers" a stainlees steel Phoenix, the symbol of rebirth, high virtue and grace, holds high a bean recovered from Ground zero.
