Those of you who are Ground ZERO vets. Please skip down to Sol.

The Colonies

The Colonies were formed by the Earth Sphere (then- United Alliance of Humanity) in 2171 to expand human exploration in space. Origanally colonies were funded and maintained by seperate national groups (ie- United States, Japan, Iraq, ect.) and were independant from the Earth Sphere (formed 2180). With the forming of Terra's new government, OZ, regulations began to seep out into the coloines. Certain nations were denied funding or were overbought by the growing power. By 2298 colonies were completely seperated from their orignal investors, the only reminants of their lives on Earth living on in integerated heritage and customs.
Colonies have survived, self maintained for the last century through established metal trade and mobile suit manufactoring with the Earth Sphere. Colonists ability to operate in zero gravity has given them a advantage over Terra factories. Other colony based economy includes weapon manufactoring, medical testing facilities, and technological engeringing.

War from the Colonies

Several things can be attributed to what many colonists refer to as "the Earth's rape of Space." Certainly the most underlying factor of OZ's slow, if not brutal, take over of outerspace is the oppertunity to control, maintain, and collect on the colonies resources.

The Earth Sphere had snuck up on the colonies, claiming their take-overs as a "service to humanity." With many colonies dying ecnomy this claim may in fact not be entirely techinically correct, however, many coloniest objected to the changing surroundings and inability to further opperate thier born homes.
After the assasination of Heero Yuy, an advocate of the colonies, a secret organization, then called ZERO was formed. This militant group collected and captured many civilian children and intergerated them in their studies and rigerious training practices, in hopes of making them future model soliders for the colonies. ZERO proposed to iniate a war in the year 2350. A team of scientists were brought in to further the chance of colonist victory by subjecting the obtained 275 children (ages ranging from 3 months to 7 years) and genetically enhance their cell structure.

Only 32 of the 275 children survived the treatment and were either released or kept in the program.
ZERO's goals shifted five years after the failed experimentation and the idea of using children in warfare was put on the back burning. Until...

The year was 2350, the Project has reopened, the alive soliders recalled and more children - teenagers- have been recruited. The Age of ZERO was about to begin.

The war was brutal, many died. Gundams were introduced into the world. Not much is remembered from those times only just over 100 years ago, those who do are too old and wise to wish to share it. The end of War as they knew it was when the main terrorist outpost was no more.

Sol - our sun and solar system

Over a century after the assumed destruction of the Absolute Destiny, the human race has advanced past the brink of the normal laws of science. Medicine is ultimately perfect, broken arms and mortal wounds are fixed just as easy as a stomach ache. Quantum technology is no longer theory, but fact, and faster than light travel is, by some, considered within reach. Though technology has advanced past the need of flora for food, costs and government intervention has stopped any mass production of the new replicators.

The wars of the past have all but been forgotten and the Gundams are merely an old mans tale, quickly becoming simple legend. There are no longer large scale wars played out by the hands of a few big leaders; the Earth Sphere Alliance is no more and both the colonies and seperate countries are quabbling amongst each other in futile battles for land, technology, or even personal affairs.

Now the main powers in Sol have serious tension and each is scouring their own lands for any and every pilot with any potential, shoving them into a mobile suit, and sending them into battle. Some of these military personell are paid, some choose to join, most are forced. The rest who do not join without a good enough excuse are either killed, thrown into prison, or worse...

The Problem

The small country of Japan is under stress from other allied governments to once again stop their buildup of military power. Those countries believe that Japan needs to stay as it was years and years ago, neutral. Japan believes they are ready for any assault by any faction, but they lack the reason to fight. Their buildup of soldiers and advanced mobile suits is for nothing as of now. The leaders of Japan believe there is a need in the economy for war, and that if the other countries don't bring it to Japan, then Japan will bring it to the other countries, any way they can.

Japan believes that if they start the fight inadvertantly and blame it on another country, then attacking enemy countries would be no problem at all. The only problem is lose ends, if they attack and the allied countries find out their secrets, secrets including the rumored immortal girl, then they would lose their allies just as fast as they made them. They had to think of a way to tie up those loose ends.

The Solution

The solution is unknown as of now, but the part of Japan's government in charge of training soldiers and the perfect soldier project has just recieved rumor that this 'immortal' girl may be plotting against the government. The girls recent transactions with other colonies and odd dissapearances from the base (when they say odd, that means they couldnt find her, anywhere) has led to a serious suspiscion. Most of the other teachers in the institute deny any of this and give almost false alibis They have decided they found their excuse.

Project Sol

At this particular moment in time the councils have only rumors about Project Sol. It is thought to be a group of renegade mobile suits that are attacking secret (yet key) points in many different parts of the planet. Aggrivating many countries to blameing other countries on the matter Their goal is unknown and their informants are not yet found. The mobile suits are supposedly more advanced than any they have seen before. Another rumor spreading is a radar tower chief saying that there were only two mobile suits on the radar...

Project Overview

In this Universe such people as Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Relena Peacecraft, ect. do not exist. You cannot be anyone from the GW show. You also cannot be named after or similiar to any of the orginal GW characters (that includes last names). However certain characters from the anime series do make guest apperances in the game, but are more than not strictly played by GM's or are just mentioned named. You can, however, be related to or somehow are (run it by me) a character from Ground ZERO.

   The story
begins inside the barred mobile suit army school for those pilots who did not sign up but were drafted, taken prisoner, etc. There you will meet Atla, the rest is explained when you join.

Tech Break

Project Sol has no stats, levels, combat numbers, dice rolls, or wages. It is a completely story-based game where the winner and the loser depend on the character(s) or (sometimes) the instructors(Atla or Chielo).

Adaquet writing skills are recommended. If you are not fluent in English please reconsider joining another game more suited towards your language skills. Spell check is not a priority, however, using "compute ebnoics" (example, using 'ur' for 'your' or '2gether' for 'together' ect) is disapproved of. Also, if you feel the need to use offensive language (a good character tool, depending on personality) no one should care (if you do please contact me and i will change this).

Gundams

Gundams have never existed in the Galaxy until about 100 years ago. They were created by Project ZERO operative Tsukiyono Sunnie. All that is left of his reasearch is scrap metal and a few space and undersea expiditions.
In Project Sol, Atla herself makes the gundams, and they are far more advanced than the past gundams. They are only pilotable by the user they are created for, and are controlled through a double interface between the regular physical controls (concious moving, firing of the guns, etc.) and a link through the bio implant allowing the subconciousness to take part, causing instant responses and faster movement.

Implants...?

Unfortunately, Atla doesn't know the secret of Ground ZERO's Generator and thus has resorted to her own ideas. About three years ago, while experimenting, she (accidentally) shot herself with a serum she just made up for S&G's and was about to dispose of it when her (graceful) friend Chielo opened the door in Atla's face causing her to stick herself with the serum. After a few weeks fever and an extreem hangover she found that it caused her to have a minute genetic change in her DNA pattern. After some experimentation on herself and Chielo, she found that if done correctly, genetic biological implants inserted into key points in the brain will trigger a powerful effect, different for every person. Though the effect is random, certain attributes of the subject may affect the result. In order of importance: personality(optimist, pessimist, mean, lonely, etc.), physical status (build, hair/eye/skin color, strength, agility), mind (IQ, stability, etc.).

Psychic Results
(taken from the GZ web page ^_^;)

Psychic powers are to be limited into specific catagories. Although telekenisis (the ability to move an object with ones mind) is considered of psychic orgin, one cannot be able to read others thoughts and "float things" at the same time.

Psychic powers can be minized to interesting sub-genres. Here are a few examples currently being used in the game:

Oracle/Precog - the ability to briefly glance into the future.
Sequencer- the ability to sequence the possiblities of the future and thier correct outcome.
Empath- The ability to sense other peoples emotions and transmit them back to them or other people.
Mind Destroyer - the ability to erase or scramble a person's personality, memory, and basic function.
Manipulation (self) - The ability to convince your body to withstand increiable amounts of pain or do death-defying feats.

Rules to the implan
ts (also taken from the GZ web page ^_^;;)

   1. Characters are allowed one and only one power.

   2. This goes with the ultimate character rule, no character can have powers that could wipe out Tokyo, New York City, and Paris in a single blow and have the character be in fit shape to go on a ten mile jog afterwards.

   3. Do not abuse or alter your powers in the middle of the game or without the GM's permission.

   4. Remeber, these powers are coming from the energy in your body. After so many uses in a short period of time the attacks will get weaker and the character will become exhausted. Having a character collaspes on the battle feild from over using their powers is a good plot twist and makes the game more entertaining.

   5. Water and Ice elements are seperate things. You can either have one or the other.

   6. Avoid using powers in front of cilivans or Military personel who are expected to survive.

   7. If powers remain inactive for a long period of time they will burst out sparatically and harm yourself and everyone around you. The GM may choose to exercise this rule as a plot twist and add it in at any point in the game.

   8. With the expection of rule 7, you are immune to your own power.

What's the Point
?

This RPG isn't centured around all Mobile Suits or carnage candy. This game was created to explore the psychological reactions and developments of young adults put in the situation of a war with no good side. Later on, missions play a large part in the basic plot, but every post is not designed to be focused solely on fighting and bleeding. If you want that, please do not sign up or don't hesitate to ask for it and Chielo herself will see to it that you see at least lots of bleeding (if you know what I mean...*insert evil laugh*).
