    Stan Scoggins is the Vice President of Worldwide Digital Assets at NBC Universal. The NBC Universal Digital Asset Management System has been in service for five years and services all Universal Marketing and Publicity areas. Prior to working at NBC Universal, Mr. Scoggins was an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton and was a member of Senator Dianne Feinstein's staff for her two Senate Campaigns.


    Steve Kotrch, Director of Publishing Technology, Simon & Schuster

    Steve Kotrch is the Director of Electronic Publishing Technologies for Simon & Schuster, a major trade book publisher. His basic focus there is to find ways to lower the publishing costs and time to market for products. His involvement with digital asset management dates back to 1995, when he created a repository of product shots for the company. Since then he built a home-grown digital archive for product files, and then implemented an enterprise-wide digital asset management system based on Artesia Teams. The next version of his "Digital Asset Bank" will integrate with S&S's portal.


    Abby De Millo, Director of Technology, Scholastic

    As Director of Technology for Scholastic, Abby De Millo handles the operations of both content management and digital asset management systems. She is the executive project lead for the redevelopment of Scholastic's Enterprise-wide digital asset management program and was responsible for the expansion and redevelopment of Scholastic's web content management practice.

    With over twenty years of industry experience in directing digital and e-business operations, web application design and usability design and testing, Abby has established herself as a leader and expert at creative business solutions.


    Carin Forman, Director, Digital Asset Management, IT - Content Systems Group, Discovery Communications, Inc.

    Carin joined Discovery in 1990, writing the initial business case for a footage archive, Discovery Images (launched in 1996). Carin’s team catalogued and indexed DCI’s owned footage assets into an onsite asset management solution for reutilization of existing owned assets. In 1999, Carin left Discovery to consult in digital distribution. Clients included Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment (launching Movielink) and Ascent Media (developing best practices around an enterprise wide asset management initiative).

    Carin re-joined Discovery in 2003 to work with internal clients and business partners on accessing DCI’s growing library of digital assets for review, collaboration and approval. Carin oversees three applications, DCI’s DAM solution, the Digital Media Center, ScheduALL and DCI’s document management system, eDocs.

    Geoffrey Bock, Senior Vice President and Senior Consultant at the Patricia Seybold Group, focuses on content management and workgroup collaboration. An analyst and author with over 25 years of industry experience, he is most interested in how digitized media transforms customers’ experiences and expedites business processes.     Over the past five years Mr. Leone has transformed BusinessWeek’s Imaging Department from a basic retouching and color-correcting group into an innovative and cost effective multi-media team. Imaging now produces graphics for the TV show BusinessWeek Money Talks and rich media for the Zinio edition. The department has also expanded into workflow automation and DAM evaluation. Prior to BusinessWeek Mr. Leone spent 16 years in print management and 4 years retouching at AGT/Seven’s Conde Nast location. He attended NYU’s Center for Advanced Digital Applications studying video editing and special effects.

    Carl Hixson, Director, Digital Technologies, HBO

    Carl Hixson has more than 16 years' digital imaging experience, and is responsible for the development and integration of emerging DAM technologies into the technical and business infrastructure of HBO. Recent projects include the design and implementation of the HBO Digital Library, an enterprise-level DAM system for rich media objects. Carl is responsible for the HBO Intranet/Extranet environments, as well as the web content and electronic document management initiative. He is also instrumental in the utilization of XML to define metadata and lexicon standards for the management of rich media assets as pertains to the entertainment industry.

She's recognized in the publishing industry as a market influencer, and has had numerous speaking engagements at major industry events.     A strategic consultant focused on Enterprise Content Management and Rights Management, Pierre-March has spent the last 20 years in IT, and is the founding partner of Vision IT.     Russ Stanton, Director, Digital Media Architect, BBDO North America

    Before moving into Information Technology, Russ Stanton had developed a professional resume that encompassed radio production, producing and directing commercials and longer formats for television, to producing music videos for MTV. He was the recipient of 13 Addy Awards and one Gabriel Award. In the 1980s, Russ chose to move away from TV and radio and jump into the IT movement. In IT, he has successfully developed and managed enterprise business applications for top entertainment and publishing companies and has produced various interactive learning websites. His two careers recently merged into one by successfully implementing the Digital Workflow for TV, Print and Radio production at BBDO.


    Graham Allan, Director, Project Management, Media Technology Board, The Walt Disney Company

    As Director, Project Management, Media Technology Board, Graham's role is to manage enterprise media technology projects across the diverse digital media activities of The Walt Disney Company. Prior to this, Graham spent more than nine years leading digital asset management initiatives at Disney's Feature Animation division, overseeing the transformation of production DAM from the 2D to 3D worlds.

    Laura Gale is a partner with Venture10, a Chicago-based company that works with graphics arts businesses to drive revenue growth through the best use of technology, sales and print processes. During her 22 years in the graphic arts industry, Laura has held VP, SVP and EVP positions at Prinexus, at the Global Production and Manufacturing Group of International Thomson Publishing, at World Color Press’ Digital Division, and has held senior positions at Rand McNally, R. R. Donnelley & Sons, and Applied Graphics Technologies.


    D. Scott Bowen, President & COO, Artesia Technologies, an Open Text Company

    Scott Bowen is the President and COO of Artesia Technologies. In this capacity, Scott is responsible for the overall operations of the company, as well as strategy formulation and execution. Scott was the Founder and General Manager of the TEAMS software division of the $6 billion Thomson Corporation, a division that Artesia ultimately purchased from Thomson in a venture-backed management buyout in the spring of 1999. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Electrical Engineering from Yale University.
