SEMINAR TALKS - Ph.D.

Shri Sharnappa, Research Scholar, Department of Mechanical Engineering will give a seminar talk on Free Vibration and Buckling Analysis of Sandwich Shells under Thermal Environment at 1300 hours on June 25, 2007 in the Newton Hall of the Applied Mechanics Department.

Shri M. Ganesh Raja, Research Scholar, Department of Mechanical Engineering will give a seminar talk on Active Vibration Control of Tesnsegrity Structures at 1400 hours on June 25, 2007 in the Newton Hall, Applied Mechanics Department.

Shri Sivasrinivasu Devadula, Research Scholar, Department of Mechanical Engineering will give a seminar talk on Performance Analysis and Monitoring of Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Process at 1430 hours on June 25, 2007 in the MES Seminar Hall.

Shri A. Kumaravel, Research Scholar, Department of Mechanical Engineering will give two seminar talks on (i) Buckling and Vibration Analysis of Magnetoelectroelastic Beam and (ii) Buckling and Vibration Analysis of Magnetoelectroelastic Shell at 1500 hours on June 25 and June 28, 2007 in the Newton Hall of the Applied Mechanics Department.

Shri D. Mallikarjuna Reddy, Research Scholar, Department of Mechanical Engineering will give a seminar talk on Damage Identification in Plate Stuctures using Modal Data and Spatial Wavelet Transform at 1400 hours on June 29, 2007 in the Newton Hall of the Applied Mechanics Department.

Shri Venkaiah Chowdary, Research Scholar, Department of Civil Engineering will give a seminar talk on Characterization of Healing in Asphalt Mixtures using a Thermomechanical Framework at 1530 hours on June 29, 2007 in the Transportation Engineering Seminar Hall.

Shri V. R. Devanathan, Research Scholar, Department of Computer Science and Engineering will give a seminar talk on Scan Architecture for Simultaneous Reduction of Test Power and Test Time for Systems-on-chip at 1400 hours on July 6, 2007 in the Seminar Hall.

Shri D. M. Nagendra Karthik, Research Scholar, Department of Applied Mechanics will give a seminar talk on Active and Passive Flow Control of an Incompressible Axisymmetric Jet at 1530 hours on June 29, 2007 in the Fluid Mechanics Lab Seminar Hall.

PH.D. VIVA VOCE EXAMINATION

The Ph.D. Viva Voce Examination of Ms. K. Aparna, Research Scholar, Department of Chemical Engineering will be held at 1130 June 26, 2007 in the Auditorium. The title of the thesis is Microwave Heating of Porous Dielectrics.

The Ph.D. Viva Voce Examination of Shri P. Ramachandran, Research Scholar, Department of Mechanical Engineering will be held at 1000 hours on June 29, 2007 in the Conference Hall. The title of the thesis is Statistical Energy Analysis Prediction of Vibro-Acoustic Response of Composite Cylindrical Shell

The Ph.D. Viva Voce Examination of Ms. Zahera Jabeen, Research Scholar, Department of Physics will be held at 1530 hours on July 2, 2007 in the Seminar Room. The title of the thesis is Universal Behaviour of Spatiotemporal Intermittency in the Coupled Sine Circle Map Lattice.

STAFF MATTERS

Prof. P. Kesavan Nair has been nominated as the Head, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering with effect from June 15, 2007 vice Prof. S. D. Pathak.

Dr. Nitish Ranjan Mahapatra is appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology with effect from May 17, 2007.

Dr. Rajshri Kishan Kumar Jobanputra is appointed as Assistant Professor on contract in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences with effect from June 6, 2007.

The following have been appointed as Junior Medical Officer on contract in the Institute Hospital with effect from June 1, 2007:

  1. Dr. B. Sampath Kumar
  2. Dr. K. Gayathri
  3. Dr. R. Gangaiamaran

Dr. J. Indu Lekha, Junior Medical Officer on contract is relieved of her duties from the Institute Hospital with effect from June 16, 2007.
