Welcome to CPL

Continuing Professional Learning (CPL) has a long history of enhancing medical practice by providing learning opportunities to physicians in Saskatchewan through educational conferences approved for MAINPRO-M1, MAINPRO-C, and Maintenance of Certification credits. In specific cases, the Office of Remediation and Enhancement has developed individualized learning programs, with the help of College of Medicine faculty.

Continuing Professional Learning will expand these services in 2004 to include web-based learning opportunities with case-based interactive learning, publication of conference highlights, Grand Rounds, and other presentations. These enhancements will provide the opportunity to seek the advice of a specialist by e-mail (managed by the CPL office), specific educational updates in several disciplines, core library information, links to the College of Medicine library, and the opportunity to develop, with faculty assistance, personalized learning programs related to physicians' individual needs. We will also be including, for your convenience, on-line registration for conferences.

The goal of these programs is to provide equal access to learning opportunities for all physicians whether they practice in rural and remote areas or in urban areas in close proximity of a teaching hospital. The services will be available to all Saskatchewan physicians regardless of geographical location.

Continuing Professional Learning programming will not be limited to internet-based learning but will continue to provide major conferences and regional programming, videoconference links, and home study programs. The CPL website will provide a central resource in which all opportunities are displayed. There will also be the option of hard copy distribution to physicians who prefer this mode of communication.
