By-law 15-2003

Chapter 139
Section 139.1.1 is repealed and the following is substituted:
"Rosalie Evans is hereby appointed as the solicitor and counsel for The City of Thunder Bay."

By-law 233-1971 is hereby repealed.

By-law 22-2003

Chapter 980
Section 980.1.2 is amended by deleting Schedule "A" thereto and substituting therefor Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming part of this By-law

By-law 27-2003

Chapter 192
Sections 192.1 and 192.2 and By-law 42-1995 are repealed - Sections 192.1 and 192.2 are replaced by the provisions of this Chapter

By-law 37-2003

Amends Chapter 17

Section 17.13 be amended by adding the following:

"Confirming By-law: The agenda for all meetings of City Council shall include the introduction of a by-law to confirm, by the majority vote of the Council, each action, motion, resolution and other action passed or taken by the Council at that meeting.

Such by-law to be introduced on the agenda following any and all Notices of Motion, being the last item of business immediately prior to a Motion for Adjournment.

The form and structure of the confirming by-law shall be as found in Schedule 'A' attached."

Section 17.6 be amended by inserting the following heading:

By-law 22-2004

Amends Chapter 487 - Schedule "D" - Mileage Rates

a) Mileage rates for personal vehicles will be equal to the rates approved by Canada Customs & Revenue Agency (CCRA) for non-taxable mileage allowances

b)  Changes in the CCRA rates shall be used to provide for an automatic adjustment of mileage allowances rates and Schedule "D" be further amended by substituting the daily rate allowance of "$45.00" for "$52.00", and deleting the phrase "The daily rate allowance is to be adjusted annually based on changes to the Consumer Price Index (Food Index)."

By-law Number 34 - 2004 Amends Chapter 926 - Replaces entire Chapter - Prohibits the Smoking of Tobacco in Public Places and in Work Places, in the City of Thunder Bay, in the District of Thunder Bay.

Amends Chapter 579 - Section 579.2.1 is deleted and replaced with the following:

Use - in City "No person shall at any time apply and Engine Compression Exhaust Style Brake on any highway under the jurisdiction of The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay."  The title to Chapter 579 is amended to read "Engine Compression Exhaust Style Brake - Use".  Schedule "A" - Exceptions to Chapter 579 is deleted.

By-law 49 - 2004 Amends Chapter 976 - Section 976.1.2 be amended by deleting the reference to "three" and replacing with "four" and deleting the phrase "one of whom shall be a Councillor" and replacing with "two of whom shall be a member of Council."  Section 976.1.6 is repealed. March 9, 2004
By-law 54 - 2004 Amends Chapter 525 - Section 525.1.1 is deleted and replaced with the following:  "As provided by Section 3 of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. M.5, the Mayor shall act as Head.  The City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk are empowered to carry out the administrative duties of the Head under the Act to make decisions on requests made under the Act, including the approval, denial or severance of information, as provided in the Act."  By-law Number 49 - 2001 is repealed. March 9, 2004
By-law 60 - 2004 Amends Chapter 78: Section 78.1.2(b) is amended by deleting reference to "five (5)" and replacting with "six (6)" and Section 78.1.2(c) is amended by deleting the reference to "two (2) persons" and replacing with "one (1) person." March 22, 2004
