Located about 360 kilometers north of Tokyo, Sendai has a population of about one million, establishing itself as the central city of the Tohoku region. It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes from JR Tokyo station by the super express train "Hayate" or "Komachi" on the Tohoku Shinkansen line. The city continues to expand in political, economic, cultural and many other aspects. The Sendai area has a mild climate, a harmonious combination of beautiful nature and urban facilities.
