The University of West Florida's John C. Pace Library serves students at its main campus in Pensacola and its branch campus in Fort Walton Beach.
Housing more than 628,000 volumes, 1 million microforms, 3,000 serial subscriptions and nearly 2,000 online journal subscriptions, the library is also designated as a regional depository for publications of the United States government and the state of Florida. On-campus libraries include the Curriculum Library and the Music Library.
Members of the library staff are available to assist in the use of all library materials and the expanding new information technology, including online catalogs, CD-ROMs, the Internet, document delivery systems, and other computer-based reference sources.
Art installed in the library's grand staircase was created by Richard Heipp,a faculty member at the University of Florida. Heipp provides a description of this exhibit, entitled Symbols and Signs: "Tower of Esoteric Alchemy." Other works displayed throughout the library are on loan from the UWF Fine and Performing Arts Center's permanent collection.
