Having reached the last 16 two years ago, FK Partizan will return to the UEFA Cup against NK Zrinjski, while FC Artmedia Petržalka start their 2007/08 European campaign at home to CSF Zimbru Chisinau after today's draw for the first qualifying round in Nyon, Switzerland.
The four teams are among 74 clubs involved in the ties to be played over two legs on 19 July and 2 August, which could include a cameo from Henrik Larsson after Helsingborgs IF were paired with Estonian side JK Trans Narva. The 37 winners will progress to the second qualifying round where they will be joined by a further 27 teams, including the eleven UEFA Intertoto Cup winners. This draw will be made in Nyon on 3 August.
The 32 survivors of the second qualifying round on 16 and 30 August will advance to the first round proper, to be staged over two legs on 20 September and 4 October, where 48 other clubs will lie in wait, including the 16 sides eliminated in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. The first-round winners will participate in the UEFA Cup group stage.
