Federal Grant Opportunities

NACo’s Federal Grants Database lists all federal program grants for which county governments are eligible. You can search the database to pinpoint programs for your specific needs. The information you retrieve will let you know whether the grants you are interested in are currently funded and whether application information is available yet. It will also provide you with information about how to contact the agency administering the grant program.

2007 Community Partnerships to Eliminate Health Disparities
(Deadline: July 11) This grant funds programs which improve the health status of targeted minority populations by eliminating disparities.

2008 Family Planning Services (Region 2 - New York, New York City)
(Deadline: March 1, 2008) This grant funds programs which establish and operate voluntary family planning services projects.

Innovations in American Government Award
(Application Deadline: Sept. 12, yearly) Funding from Harvard University's Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation will support government innovation and creative problem solving. Applications are accepted year-round, with September 12 being the cut-off between cycles.

Fresh Ideas: Improving the Health of Immigrant and Refugee Communities
(Deadline: July 13) This grant funds programs that give immigrants and refugees the tools and support they need to improve and maintain their own health.

Internet Crimes Against Children Expansion (Phase II)
(Deadline: July 20) This grant funds programs which develop an effective response to technology-facilitated exploitation of children including online enticement and child pornography.
