the Opelousas Spice and Music Festival. Held at the South City Park in Opelousas,
festival activities include some of the best music from this area, great

ORIGINAL SOUTHWEST
LOUISIANA ZYDECO FESTIVAL
Saturday before Labor Day

Located in the Plaisance community of the
city of Opelousas, the Original Southwest Zydeco Festival has been a
tradition here since 1982. Live, spicy Zydeco music streams across

YAMBILEE FESTIVAL
Last weekend in October
A long
tradition in Opelousas, the heart of the Louisiana yam-growing region.
Activities include a parade,
carnival rides, food and craft booths, a Mass of Thanksgiving, and
various pageants - from the King and Queen Yum-Yum, to the Teen, Miss
