SOHH Soulful: Tyrese, Ginuwine & Tank Form R&B; Supergroup

Wednesday - May 23, 2007 by Janeé Bolden

R&B singers Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank are putting their talents together as part of the new group TGT, with plans to release an album and go on tour.

According to a recent announcement from the Core DJ's regarding Core artist Tyrese, the three multi-platinum soul singing stars are already in the studio working on their debut album.

"With all the support our fans have given us individually over the years and for our distinct signature styles, collectively we felt our fans deserved to hear great music in a way that they could never have imagined. I've known these guys for years and they truly are like brothers, so it only feels right to come together as a trio to make history!" Tyrese said via statement.

This recent development is announced on the heels of Tyrese's fifth album Alter-Ego as well as the release of Tank's third album Sex, Love and Pain. Fans of Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank will be pleased to catch an early glimpse of TGT at work on the remix for Tank's current single, "Please Don't Go," which is scheduled for radio release in two weeks.

"TGT for me, is a dream come true!" Tank said, also by statement. "It only makes sense that three of the best R&B singers in the game come together for a group that will reshape the face of R&B music!"

In their combined careers, Tyrese, Tank and Ginuwine have recorded 13 albums, resulting in multiple #1 singles and sold out concerts around the world. In addition to a currently untitled TGT album, the group plans to launch their first international tour in the fall. "The Shirts Off Tour" is expected to make stops in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Chicago and Miami. The tour will include sets featuring the greatest solo hits from each singer as well as new TGT material.

TGT has also announced plans to use "The Shirts Off Tour" as the launch of their national search to find a fourth member. Executed in the same style as "American Idol" and "America's Got Talent," the TGT search will audition talent in most major U.S. cities.
