Stanley Ray Bond was arrested with "Lefty" Gilday for a bank expropriation at the State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston with the intent to help finance the movement against the Vietnam War. On June 24, 1972, Bond was killed in an explosion in Walpole State Prison. According to the authorities, Bond was making a bomb, which was to be used during an attempted escape. Bond was put to rest at the Los Angeles National Cemetery on July 6th 1972.
