Betawiki
Introduction
This is Betawiki. It serves two purposes:
- Testing platform for the developer who runs it
- Testing platform for an extension which provides framework for translating MediaWiki, its extensions and even other projects.
This is a private wiki not run by Wikimedia foundation. It's run by a MediaWiki developer who currently handles pushing messages from this wiki to version control system. The translation functionality is provided by an extension, which may at some point in the future be integrated into some Wikimedia project.
Translation
It is currently used to translate and maintain about ten translations of MediaWiki and its extensions. Unofficial help for translators is at Translating:Intro. Translators are suggested to visit IRC channel on Freenode, but it is not mandatory. To use the translation interface you have to register and be assigned to the translator group.
Due to reason 1. above this wiki contains experimental code and/or can be broken occasionally. Problems usually go away quickly.
