Hand Up (i.e. Comment) if you're going to CFdevCon

I'm very excited about going to my first CF conference ever, and I'd like to put out a call to find out who else will be there. So if you're going please take the time to comment this post, telling who you are and where you're from.

I'll start:

My name is Trond Ulseth and I work as a CF developer for a company called IDLmedia AS in a small town called Kristiansund in the middle of Norway. I will also go to Charlie Areharts FusionDebug/FusionReactor training the day after CFdevCon. Hope to see you there.

Nice to see at least one person coming from outside the UK.

Some are even coming from the states... I know of at least three - including Charlie.

Well Charlie is a speaker, so that doesn't really count :-)

I hope the reason so few "raised their hand" is due to lack of readership on my blog, rather than no one else attending ;)

Russ - you can probably confirm some kind of estimate as to how many are coming (it would have been fun to know who also, but....).

There will be around 120 people. Which is actually not bad for a first conference, even CFUNITED only had around this many the first time and the USA is a hell of a lot bigger than the UK.

I agree Russ. 120 is not bad at all.

My hand is up here to! See you all there.

Just a quick note about your comment on the so few people have 'raised their hands'. I found the same happened to my blog and it was directly relational to the CAPTCHA being implemented. I've got nothing against it but its just a hurdle that a lot of people don't want to jump through. You can cut down the number of letters shown in the config which makes it that bit more usuable.

I like the new site by the way.

It was on my todo list. Thanks for that extra little "kick in the but" Andy. I used the xml file provided by Charle Arehart on http://carehart.org/blog/client/index.cfm/2006/10/...

To tell you the fact I've always hated captchas my self, since many of them are just so damn hard to make out. I've not experienced any blog spam my self, so in theory I could have just left it out all together. But I'll live the simplified version in there, just to have that extra step of security in case some spammer would target me (God knows they've targeted me on my email account).

On another note - are you coming for Fridays training as well Andy? If so I'd expect a live friday joke to start of the day (I'm sure Charlie would not mind).

See you soon!

Sadly I've gotta head back down south on the Friday morning to carry on working (though it is from home so its not to bad) - plus public speaking scare the cr$p out of me!
