Candalyn "Candi"              Kubeck
             Captain

Candi Kubeck was born in Hollywood, California, on May 10, 1961. She grew up in the San Diego area and started flying lessons while in high school. Candi went to Palomar College in San Marcos, California and was a member of the flight team there. Candi transferred to Metro State College in Denver where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Aviation Studies. While at Metro she flew on the college flight team there, and was named Top Woman Pilot at the National Collegiate Flying Association's national meeting in 1981. She also earned the Amelia Earhardt scholarship and got to meet Amelia's sister, Muriel.

Candi had many jobs in aviation: Flight instructor, Air Traffic Control Specialist, freight pilot, commuter airline captain, and finally captain for ValuJet.

While Candi excelled at all her flying activities, those who knew her will always respect and love her for the way she nurtured friendships in her unselfish way. She will be remembered fondly by many.
