Carey brothers mark NFL milestone

NFL.com wire reports

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 3, 2005) -- Mike and Don Carey became the first brothers to officiate an NFL game together when they were part of the crew of the game between the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers.

Mike Carey was the referee, while Don Carey was the back judge. Their assignments prevented them from getting too close to one another for most of the game.

Mike Carey came into the league in 1990. Don, his older brother, got his first NFL assignment in 1995.
