Bicarbonate Reabsorption, Thick Limb of Henle’s Loop
Evidence has accumulated to indicate that a small fraction of filtered HCO3- is reabsorbed in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle. The mechanism is believed to be the same as in the proximal tubule and may be responsible for reabsorption of 10 to 15 % of the filtered HCO3-.
