BUNCH OF CRAZY CRAP IS…

… going on. I’m PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And its pretty hard to get me pissed.)

I will not say more, will go and cool down before I say something stupid about these 3 “characters”.

Update: I’m trying to cool down but some people are really getting under my skin… There was supposed to be an internet truce but there was a podcast where a certain person was talking crap about without first getting to the bottom of the facts. I told the other guy I was gonna be gone for a few hours till late afternoon. This is just craziness.

I really want to work with these guys but right now I’m feeling BULLIED and I just want fair treatment. If this was really a big misunderstanding I figured people would appreciate it and let me sleep on this whole thing.

If this is an example of what will happen now that i’m trying to do a turn-around… I am just wondering what will happen if I end up being “married” to these guys for a year or whatever it happens to be.

Please guys, lets back off, calm down, sleep on it and have a good conversation and get things back on track. See my comments for more stuff as I was venting today…

LossMitPro Lawsuit Settled, Domain Sold, Book Rights Assigned

LossMitPro and I have settled the lawsuit and I sold the blog and I assigned my right to my foreclosure book. We’ll talk about it on tonight’s talkcast at 5PM Pacific. (Swing by Capital Garage Cafe if you’re in Sac and say hi). Here are some details:

LossMitPro and I worked out our issues

LossMitPro sued me for defamation of his name. He doesn’t mind his screen name used but I knew that he always wanted his real name to stay off the web. Of course, I was pissed at some of the stuff he was doing so I was ready to defend myself through my blog and in the courts…

23 Days Left - Last Mailing

I couldn’t sleep for some reason so I’m staying up taking care of somethings like sending out my last email to my mailing list and closing down that service to prevent future charges. I will not be promoting myself or my business ventures anymore for a LONG time, maybe forever.

Also, yesterday I talked with some potential buyers for this domain. I’m getting some strong interest so I’m very hopeful I will be able to pay off my wife’s 30-32K worth of credit cards with the sale and have some left over to pay for the best credit-repair service I can find.

My wife trusted me with her credit to use for my real estate investing adventures and I promised I will not screw it up. Now it’s ruined but I have a chance to bring it back with the sale of this domain. That’s the least I can do. After that, any left-over money will go to pay off MY debt which is roughly $140K unsecured plus $200-300k from mortgage deficiencies, but I need to get all that updated.

The Last 24 Days of I am Facing Foreclosure .com

I’m shutting down the blog in 24 days and getting a W2 job, and will do no more business for at least 2 years.

No amount of “fame” or money is worth a failed marriage. I had good intentions with the blog but never did I think it would get this crazy and this toxic. The saying “any publicity is good publicity” is only true if you don’t care what happens to your relationships. I thought I can leverage it for the positive but that back-fired.

To me that is not a good trade off. I’m sorry it took me this long to see it. I kept telling myself I can find a way to make it all work out (”win-win” and all that). I shut down before but couldn’t stay way and then I to a whole new level (for the worse) by coming back online and going to Australia.

Big News To Come Tomorrow…

Last time I had a teaser post about big news was when I found out I’m meeting Robert Kiyosaki in person (here is the video if you haven’t seen it yet).

But no, this time I’m not meeting any famous guru. This time it’s quite different.

Also, things in court were quite… er… “interesting” today. Sorry, I can’t talk about it, at least for now.

Local Rule §2.04(a) - Ex Parte Relief

After talking to a lawyer I also did some research of my own. I found a great page written by no other than Judge McMaster himself. Here is the link: Ex Parte Relief: What You Always Wanted
To Know But Were Afraid To Ask
.

Here is my favorite part:

From the judge’s perspective, a request for ex parte relief often (1) places unrealistic demands on the judge to decide complicated matters in a few minutes, (2) severely impacts the court’s calendar, or (3) constitutes a waste of the court’s limited time and resources.

I don’t know about you, but I sure don’t want to waste court’s limited time and resources…

Listening to Legal Advice

Just got off the phone with a real business litigation lawyer. I was advised to take down any posts that might give the other party any ammo, regardless of how frivolous the lawsuit is. I considered the risks and rewards and decided to follow through. I’m just going to ignore the whole non-sense for now and fight in court when required. I’ll save all the juice for that.

Sorry to be so cryptic. In the future I may re-consider this strategy and I may even post court transcripts if allowed. But for now I will choose to focus on taking care of my financial problems instead and not be bothered by this crap.

One Serial Entrepreneur to Another

Doing the Talkcast from Capital Garage cafe in Sacramento

That’s me doing the last IamFacingForeclosure.com Talkcast at Capital Garage cafe in downtown Sacramento. Thanks to Mike for taking the pic.

As for today’s topic. I am trying to enjoy my weekend and take a break from all the drama lately. In perfect timing I received the following encouraging email from a fellow “Serial Entrepreneur”.

Wheather you’re a struggling entrepreneur, dealing with foreclosure or some other life obstacle… I hope it encourages you as much as it encouraged me:

Not Welcome Home

Just got back to Sacramento and I’m not welcome home. That kinda sucks… That’s all I can say.

It’s very late and I gotta catchup on a lot of stuff tomorrow morning (Friday), so no time for a lengthy post. The talkcast is still on. Join me at 5pm Pacific.

Pre-Foreclosure and Predatory Lending Email

(Blogging from Seattle). Here is an email I got recently about a pre foreclosure situation and predatory lending. It’s a very touching story of somebody who has been mis-treated and has had lots of crazy bad things happen to her.

I usually help people in foreclosure by email with tips from my personal experience and my foreclosure process knowledge. But this person I didn’t know how to help. If you have any tips or ideas for this person, please respond in the comments.

======= Start of Email =======

I am dealing with a predatory lender, Homeq Servicing.

I am considering suicide, because I can no longer deal with their harassment and abuse and threats to take away my job. I cannot refinance with a reputable lender because my credit rating was ruined by telemarketing fraud and medical bills in dispute. I cannot get the credit bureaus to clear the crap from my report, so my FICO score is favorable.

I’m Back in the United States

It was a good and productive trip to Australia. Got some time to get away, do some thinking and catchup on some work, make some great connections, get some extra exposure and extra advertisers. Only spent about $400 or so but made a thousand or two over $3,000 in extra income - money to send home and money to live on and be able to make a turn-around. Thanks to all the supporterz out there. Now I have to deal with all this crap here.

I am Facing Foreclosure Email

I get lots of great emails from this blog. Some people ask me foreclosure questions (I help as much as I can), some people offer encouragement and advice, some offer sweet opportunities (those are the gold nuggets!) and some simply waste my time.

Here is a great encouraging email from somebody who has gone through some rough times. I will write my response/feedback in BOLD.

(Trip update is at the bottom of the post. By the way, thanks to Sean Reynolds of Housing Affordability Blog for dinner, beers and helping me find a hostel after my “supporter” pulled out. Also see Sean’s original emails)

=== Start of Email ===

Casey,

I hope this email finds you well. I want to share with you some of my story and what I have learned because I can relate to yours on many levels.

I left the corporate world at about your age to start some type of home-based business.

My girlfriend left me (luckily in one sense) soon after because she was jealous that she was going to work in the morning while I was home….even though she saw I was working.

Live on Australia National Radio

Tomorrow I will be on national radio in Australia: ABC Triple J - Top Shelf with Robbie Buck. The interview is live at 3PM. I will be sharing my foreclosure story and what I’m doing to pay back debt and make a comeback.

I’m blogging right now from an internet cafe in Sydney ($2/hr), ‘cuz I couldn’t find a free WIFI quickly enough. Tonight I’m staying in a hostel. It’s $50/night for my own room so that my stuff is secure.

I need a place in Sydney for a few nights. There is another big interview opportunity that may or may not happen. So I want to hang out here just in case. If I can’t find a place I’m comfortable with I may continue doing the hostel thing or maybe CouchSurfing.com? By the way, thanks to my host in Newcastle for putting me up!

Update: I finally addressed some FAQs in the comments.

Foreclosure, Real Estate Agents and Me

Australia travel update: Blogging from Newcastle airport. Will be in Sydney tomorrow for a couple of days trying to catch an interview or two. I promised to start calling my lenders, now that I have income. I need to get a new Skype headset for that. Anybody have one to spare?

Foreclosure, Real Estate Agents and Me…

I was interviewed by Trevor Smith of BlueCollarAgents.com about my experience with real estate agents. I ended up writing lots of juicy details and lessons from my foreclosed deals so I wanted to share the full interview here.

Last time I wrote about real estate agents I pissed off a few (didn’t mean too). Hey, I’m just keeping it organic.

Enjoy:

Meeting Pro-Blogger Yaro Starak of Entrepreneurs-Journey.com

Yaro Starak and Casey Serin

I extended my stay in Brisbane long enough to meet up with Yaro Starak, a fellow young blogger of Entrepreneurs-Journey.com. I’ve been following Yaro on and off ever since my W2 days at Pride Industries in 2005. He went from dabbling to now making a full-time income “Having Fun Working Two Hours a Day Writing About Favorite Topics”. Pretty sweet life-style.

He gave me some specific professional blogging advice…

Sell My Foreclosure Blog for $100,000?

I’ve been talking with people in the last several weeks about selling this “internationally infamous” foreclosure blog. The offers are over $100,000 at this point. Still trying to see how serious people are and making sure the blog will fall into good hands.

I also have some opportunities to sell-off partial ownership and stay on as a partner to develop this blog/site further to ride the huge foreclosure wave that is coming. Either way I want to do something with the “equity” in this blog or take on a financial partner.

So what can I do with $100,000?

Travel the World to Pay Off Debt (Exposure is a Good Thing)

Sydney Morning Hearld screenshot

This crazy adventure just keeps getting better and better. It all started when somebody leaked my secret trip to Australia. Then thanks to Declan it got out on CNet and other places. Then thanks to Stephen Hutcheon Sydney Morning Herald picked up the story, then a local radio station this morning and there are more great opportunities in the works. (Oh and thanks to Jon Ronson the BBC Radio finally aired my foreclosure story, recorded a month ago.)

How does all this exposure help me??

Need A New Place in Australia (and Maybe Overseas)

My stay with my current Australian host is coming to an end this week due to some complications. So I figure I take advantage of some recent exposure in Sydney Morning Herald (and Argentina) and ask.

Can somebody offer me a place to stay so I can finish up some stuff here in Australia?

Crikey! Pasha The Shipwreck “Foreclosure”

That's what I call a "Shipwreck Foreclosure"

Have you heard of Pasha Bulker? Everybody here in Aussie has. I feel for Pasha. It’s kind of like my foreclosure story. People can’t resist to come and watch the ship/car/trainwreck and see if he makes out alive. Had to get first hand experience of this “foreclosure”…

Foreclosure Blog Advertising Renewals, and More Traffic / Media

IamFacingForeclosure.com Traffic

[Here is a letter I sent to my advertisers and supporterz, headings/links added:]

Dear I am Facing Foreclosure .com sponsors,

Sorry for all the craziness that has been happening. As some of you know, I decided to bring the foreclosure blog back up mainly in order to honor my previous contract with my publisher and avoid legal trouble.

Making money from blog advertising is the best way for me right now to stay afloat and feed my family. While, making money from future foreclosure / blogging info products and book series is the best way for me to start paying off my debts. I may get a W2 job if needed but for now I must take advantage of my only asset which is this foreclosure blog…

Australia and Idiot Haterz

In Australia

Yes, I’m here in Australia. The rumors are true. But a lot of people are slanting the story to make it seem worse than it is. These people are spreading crap about me to ruin anything left of my name and ruining the reputation of everybody who is associated with me.

No, I did not leave my wife penny-less and run away to Australia! It’s amazing how some people are trying so hard to sabotage my efforts to make an honest buck through my story/publicity. More on that below.

For now… why in the WORLD am I in Australia?

From the “Publisher” of Casey’s Foreclosure Book…

[Begin guest post from the “Publisher”]

Warning: this will be a lengthy post, but will answer many questions people are dying to know.

In light of Casey shutting down his blog, turning it back on, his last several posts and people’s comments, the need for many clarifications are apparent.

Casey had asked me to create a post, and then a post at least once per week leading up to the launch of his first book in a series.

I agreed on one condition.

The posts I create will be completely unedited. Why? I have a few “beefs” personally with Casey, while resolved behind the scenes, will help you (the readers of IAFF) get an insight to things happening in Casey’s life he hasn’t really discussed before, or has been very cryptic about, giving clues, but not really explaining.

First, who am I?

Why I am Facing Foreclosure is Back

I can’t go into too much details but basically one of the main reasons this foreclosure blog is back up is because my publisher is forcing me to keep blogging. The publisher threatened to sue me for breaking our contract. If you remember I started working with an independent publisher on my own foreclosure book to tell my story in great detail, and share lessons on foreclosure and real estate investing…
