£2675.50 raised for Amnesty International in Q2 + Q3 2006

Submitted by jonnyplatt on Sun, 2006-10-08 07:10.

Rectifi is becoming more and more suceptible to the whims of Google so as very little was raised between April and June it was decided to have a 'rollover' quarter, and combine the donations from both Quarter 2 and Quarter 3 into one. The site recovered well through July and August only to drop in traffic again in September - It's for this reason I've started trying to create more of a community element to the site so you all have more reason to keep coming back!

No charity is listed for this donation yet as I have yet to receive all the funds from the advertising networks and so will not make the donation until the end of October/start of November; however I think Amnesty International would be a good choice. What do you think?

£518.62 raised for Childline in Quarter 4, 2005

Submitted by jonnyplatt on Sun, 2006-10-08 06:37.

We wished to help support Childline's emergency appeal over Christmas, however we are very sorry to say that our old web host, Beamhost, crashed taking our server with it in early November, just as the Christmas Shopping period began, and refused to answer emails and support calls. It also transpired that their 'daily backups' were saved on the same server so when the server died so did our backups, and we were unable to resurrect the website until mid January, leading to a much lower than usual donation being raised.

£980 raised for Tourism Concern in Quarter 3, 2005

Submitted by jonnyplatt on Sun, 2006-10-08 06:36.

Tourism Concern work with communities in destination countries to reduce social and environmental problems connected to tourism and with the out-going tourism industry in the UK to find ways of improving tourism so that local benefits are increased.

We were pleased that despite being forced to relaunch under a new name after Google took a disliking to GiveAsYouGet we were still able to raise a considerable amount, even though money didn't start coming in from the new site until Mid August, half way through the quarter.Â
