National History Day in Georgia 2007

State Contest Results "Triumph and Tragedy in History "

On April 28, 2007, over 300 middle and high school students from schools all over Georgia participated in the National History Day in Georgia state contest, hosted at Macon State College. Students entered papers, exhibits, performances, and documentaries on a variety of topics, all related to the theme "Triumph and Tragedy in History" Historians from across the state volunteered to serve as judges and worked together to select this year's winners.

Those winning at the state level, advanced to the national competition at the University of Maryland June 11-15th.  One student, Phillips Workman, made it to the national finals placing 13th in the nation for his paper on Marie Curie!
